Commissioner’s Medical Ground Rounds: Your Practice and NYS DOH

Your Practice and the New York State Department
of Health’s Office of Professional Medical Conduct

One of the most important roles of the Health Department is ensuring patient safety. In this Grand Rounds, we’ll take a look at the Office of Professional Medical Conduct, how they handle complaints, conduct investigations and manage cases of medical misconduct involving physicians, physician and specialist assistants, and unlicensed medical residents. The discussion will examine exactly how the department defines misconduct and explore the role of physician peer review in the process. It will also present updates and new initiatives.
