In honor of Women’s History Month and recognition of National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, the Women’s Advisory Board is hosting a summit with the theme of strength and beauty and a focus on wellness and community. This event will provide emotional and professional support to women in HIV/AIDS organizations and people of color justice organizations as well as best practices in reaching women through activism and health, while fostering new relationships across sectors to bring awareness to HIV testing and linkage to care, education, and PrEP for women.

The Personal is Political: Exploring Activism and Intersectionality
A conversation on women’s activism, body/gender politics, and social justice. This panel will be an open dialogue for strong, inspiring, women activists in the field to share their personal and professional experiences (including successes and challenges) and provide next steps on how to impact women and advocate for our rights, while thinking globally and acting locally.

Self-Love, Empowerment, and Sexual Health: Exploring the HIV Prevention Toolkit
A conversation on women’s sexual empowerment with a focus on PrEP and effective HIV treatment. This panel will discuss the challenges of staying healthy while having meaningful intimacy in relationships and the role that various prevention options can play. Panelists will also discuss prevention options among women, next steps in increasing awareness of and access to these prevention options among women, and women’s personal experiences on PrEP or effective HIV treatment.
