What is the Empire State Medical Association?
The Empire State Medical Association is the New York affiliate of The National Medical Association (NMA) which promotes the collective interests of physicians and patients of African descent. We carry out this mission by serving as the collective voice of physicians of African descent and as a leading force for parity in medicine, elimination of health disparities and the promotion of optimal health.
Sponsorship Opportunities
On Saturday, November 6, 2010 the Empire State Medical Association will hold its annual conference entitled "Crisis: Preparedness, Mobilization, Sustainability A Look at Diabetes and the Haitian Relief Efforts", at the New York Academy of Medicine. Over 200 New York-based physicians, health care professionals, medical students, directors/managers of hospitals and health care centers will be in attendance. This conference will: provide an atmosphere to discuss and shared best practices as it relates to preventative measures that addresses the existing health disparities; provide an opportunity to obtain Continuing Medical Education credit; the opportunity to participate in the discussion regarding Physician Practice Development; provide a forum for developing health policies pertinent to the State of New York; and provide an opportunity for the presentation of educational content that addresses urban health issues in New York State. Participating sponsors will have the opportunity to reach a unique audience of upscale professionals.
